Healthcare facilities are sensitive to the selection of the appropriate fabric to use in their hospital uniforms. Medical personnel require fabrics that balance between hygiene, durability, comfort and professionalism. We produce medical textiles of high quality at our own plant, Hebei Ourui Textile Technology Co., Ltd. with almost 20 years of experience, 300 machines sets, and 3 million meters of fabric and 450 tons of yarn every month. Three common choices which include satin, polyester twill, and polyester-cotton mixes are compared below as hospital uniforms and workwear.
Polyester-Cotton Blend: The All-Rounder for Daily Medical Workwear
The most common fabric used as hospital uniforms is polyester-cotton blend. It is a mixture of the breathability and the softness of cotton, the strength and wrinkle-resistance of polyester. This combination is simple to wash, dry fast and can be sterilized and re-sterilized on a high-temperature, which is critical in healthcare settings. Neither does it shrink nor fade. Our Polyester/Cotton Blend fabrics come in different proportions (e.g., 65/35 or 80/20) at Hebei Ourui to meet various comfort and durability requirements. polyester-cotton is used in Uniform Fabric, shirt fabrics and workwear, and is a great choice when hospitals want to use cost-effective, high-quality daily uniforms. Our quality control staff make sure that each batch is of high quality to be exported to other markets such as Ecuador, UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
Polyester Twill: Superior Durability and Professional Appearance
Polyester twill is described by the diagonal weave, which increases the tensile strength, abrasion resistance and the opacities of the fabric over plain weaves. Polyester twill is an excellent option to use as hospital uniforms that can withstand the movement, constant contacts with equipment, and strict laundering. It is not pill easily and has a crisp professional appearance all day long. Twill fabrics also wear well and are resistant to wrinkling, which decreases the amount of ironing. Our 100% Polyester twill weave fabrics are perfect in medical work wear and uniform cloth where durability and cleanliness are of great concern. Having our own workshop and R&D resources we are able to tailor the weight, color and finish to the needs of a particular hospital to aid in sample analysis to make an accurate quote.
Satin Fabric: When Comfort and Aesthetics Matter
The satin weave fabrics are usually fabricated using 100 percent polyester or polyester-viscose with smooth lustrous surface and dull back. Satin is not used in general duty scrubs in hospitals, but in specialized work (e.g., administrative or VIP patient-facing staff) or as lining materials to medical jackets and lab coats. Satin is smooth, has minimal friction with skin, and has a nice shininess that exudes professionalism. But satin is not as tough as twill to withstand heavy washing. Our Polyester/Viscose and 100% Polyester satin styles offer a comfortable and stylish balance to the look of the hospital when they need to look premium in less frequently used garments. Another product we manufacture is Polyester Viscose Yarn to maintain stable quality of fibers to finished fabric.
Key Selection Criteria and Why Hebei Ourui is Your Partner
In a comparison of these hospital uniform fabrics, it is possible to consider three requirements: durability (washing and sterilization), comfort (breathability and skin feel), and cost-effectiveness. Polyester-cotton is the best overall combination that can be used in day to day scrubs. Polyester twill is also good in heavy duty jobs where high strength is needed. Satin finds its niche uses in situations when softness and sheen are more important. We offer Polyester/Cotton Blend, 100% Polyester (including twill), and Polyester/Viscose satin all covered by our own production and strict QC at Hebei Ourui. We sell our products to Peru, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and more, and are committed to improved customer service.
