How to Identify Twill Fabrics: The Diagonal Test
The easiest way of differentiating a twill cloth is observation of parallel diagonal ribs of the cloth. In contrast to plain weave (just over and under) or satin weave (smooth and glossy surface), twill forms a step pattern of diagonal, usually running down the left and towards the right (or the opposite). To check, put the cloth in front of light and determine the weave pattern. You can also feel the cloth--twill is a less stiff stiffer hand than plain weave due to less crossing points. Common twill angles include 45°, 60°, and 70°. Polyester/Cotton Twill: The polyester is strong and is combined with the breathability of cotton. Fabrics: Ideal in Uniform Fabric, workwear fabrics and shirt fabrics. Keeps wrinkle-free and shrink-free, daily.
100% Cotton Twill: Soft, lightweight and comfortable. Fashionable on Thobe Fabric, pocket fabric and light suiting. Gives good dyeing of vivid colors.
Polyester/ Viscose Twill: Slippery, shiny and falls well. Very suitable to Suitting Fabric and lining fabrics. Our Polyester Viscose Yarn ensures quality of the yarns to the finished fabrics.
100% Polyester Twill: This is very durable, moisture wicking and wrinkle resistant. 100% Polyester Scarf and heavy-duty uniforms are acceptable with regard to medical work.

Diagonal Consistency: The twill lines should be continuous, even, on the face side, and rather noticeable.
Thread Count: Thread counts (e.g., 32x32, 40x40, or 68x68) are related to improved density, strength, and smoothness. Fewer will be harsh and will wear away.
Tensile and Tear Strength: Vital in working and medical clothes. Twill ought to be tear resistant.
Colorfastness: Minimum Grade 4 when washing, rubbing and exposure to light (ISO or AATCC standards). Low quality of dyes is indicated by fading.
Shrinkage Control: Quality twill should have less than 3% shrinkage after multiple washes.
Abrasion Resistance: Twill is supposed to be resistant to abrasion without pilling or abrasion-induced thinning.
